28 Oct Junior Alley Masters
Cronulla Sharks Boardriders Club have joined with other fellow Surfing Sutherland Shire member club’s and held their first contest since the Covid-19 restrictions have eased.
The oldest established Bate Bay club held their annual Junior Alley Masters contest-sponsored by RB99 Commercial and Triple Bull on Saturday, sharing the North Cronulla beach amicably with the SLSA Sydney Branch Triple Crown Surf Carnival.
Helped by Sutherland Council Lifeguards and with every community sport affected during covid restrictions all efforts to co-exist on the beach in this shortened season are important.
The surf too played its part sitting around the solid 1-2 metre mark providing everyone with good opportunities.
Zeke Fahey won the U16’s division over North Cronulla SLSC’s Cruz McKee who actually participated in both events almost simultaneously running between heats and using different surfcraft.
The u13’s was taken out by Juan George over Nate Larkin and Oliver Croft, who also won the u10 Micro Groms in very trying conditions for the pint sized paddlers.
