The first contest in our 49th year kicked off a few weeks late, but moving up to John Davey meant we had a good bank to surf and everyone made the most of the 3 ft lefts and rights on offer.
First up the U10s and Koru Hall and Michael Lunniss put on a real show with Koru taking the points. Next up the 13's where Sonny Leong showed his stuff, in the 16's Alessandro beat out Sonny and in the women's Zara just had enough to take the win over new member Scarlett Gray-by 0.14. In the Old men O60's Gally wiggled the best to the beach and Fishkiller and Greg Brown battled it out in the 45's Fishy claiming the points.
The Opens welcomed back former club champ and Tour surfer Kirk Flintoff who's kid Saint surfed in the Micro's-Kirk caught some sneaky lefts while the rest of the pack hassled for rights and picked up the first place cash over Rhys Young and Haydo-Fin Browning doing the hack of the day.
Thanks to all the sponsors and helpers who helped us start another season on the beach.
