March Pointscore

The first contest of the year can be a big event as surfers try to consolidate their positions in their age categories .

A long day of heats started with a morning high tide and 2-3 ft east swell where the junior and female competitors had to battle it out on the shorey with Jasmine and Ollie taking the prizes.

The U 13’s were the first to benefit from the dropping tide as Ollie Croft was the first to  paddle out the back and made the most of the extra push into the shorey section.

The u16s were also hesitant but Kash also made them pay catching two long ones from out the back for the win.

The Opens kicked off as the waves started to really push through and for once they got the pick of the day with two rounds of good conditions with lefts running into the Alley Bowl.

The rip was heaving leaving the Lifeguards with lots of work to do as the Masters also got some good waves leading into their final.

The senior finals were a family affair with Jake Brown jumping out the blocks smashing the highest score of the heat before any one else had scored a keeper-he backed it up for his first win in the Opens.

Father Greg wasn’t to be overshadowed in the Masters starting behind Adam Brown’s good start but finally overhauling him as the banks started to close out.

Congrats to Ollie Croft, Jasmine Gosby, Kash Brown, Greg and Jake Brown (first father son winners) thanks to everyone that helped out on the day-Jimmy, Woofo, Dan, Rich, Gally and everyone I didn’t mention (sorry).
