March Pointscore

Our first club contest went off with a bang. The event was scheduled for early March but due to bad weather and waves, rescheduled to March 27th.
We had a great turn out of 75+ competitors across 6 divisions including U10 micro groms, U13 cadets, U16 Juniors, Open Women, Open Men, and Over 45 masters.

We ran at North Cronulla (the Alley) in fun waves and sunny conditions. The Juniors, Women, Cadets, and Groms scored the morning high tide with a 3-foot Trestles-like peak to start the morning. As the tide dropped the Opens and Masters moved over to the rock pool rights with a right-hand bowl forming. After a break over Christmas, everyone was frothing to compete and get back in the water together.

A standout mention to the Brown Family with Kash Brown and Zai Brown taking 1st and 2nd respectively in the U16 juniors and super dad Rich Brown taking the win in the competitive Over 45s.
Another family standard out was legendary Shaper Dylan Longbottom finishing 4th in the Open Men’s final and his daughter Summa Longbottom taking out the Womens.

The Open Men division was stacked with a round of 24. 2020 club champion Jay Brown kept his momentum rolling taking the win and $100 with Jordy Turansky a close 2nd ($50) followed by Roan O’Sullivan 3rd ($50), Dylan Longbottom 4th, Luke Madden 5th, and Oli Watson 6th.
